The world is constantly changing and evolving. In geography we aim to broaden your horizons and bring this exciting world into the classroom. We want you to leave school understanding, not only how the world works, but your place in it.

Geography will open up the world for you and bring you opportunities to expand your understanding of people, places and culture. Our curriculum helps you to recognise the challenges, like climate change, that you will face in the future, and the very real role you can play in solving these.

You will learn to value empathy, understanding, respect and aspiration by learning the stories of the amazing people who are making the world a better place. We want to help you develop your confidence to ask questions and your ability to go out and get the answers.

You will have the opportunity to build the skills you will need to navigate the world and to thrive in the modern workplace. But most importantly, we want you to love learning about the world and the people in it.

KS4

Geography is an interesting subject that looks at the natural world and how human activity can have positive and negative impacts on the environment.

The overarching aims of this qualification are that learners should develop the ability to think 'like a geographer'. That is to say, learners will develop the skills necessary to conduct framed enquiries in the classroom and in the field in order to develop their understanding of specialised geographical concepts and current geographical issues.

Pupils will develop the ability to think: creatively, scientifically and have the confidence to make informed, skillful independent decisions for life to come.
