I joined The Oxford Academy in Yr 12 in Sixth Form, having lived in Portugal. My older English cousin studied at TOA6 and recommended it to me.
I really like the community feel of the Sixth Form and we often have small celebrations which are really good fun and get-togethers. I study Sociology and really like the teachers and we often have really thought provoking discussions. I also study Art, which I have enjoyed since being a small child.
I am not sure what I am going to do in the future, but I have made some really good friends since joining The Oxford Academy.
I have been at the school since year 7. I enjoy Sixth Form as you are given the chance to study the subjects you really enjoy, it is a good mix of being hard work but also ‘laid back’. It has been really helpful having lots of opportunity on writing personal statements and CVs.

I am Seb. I am a year 9 student at the Oxford Academy. I started here in year 7 and I think that the Oxford Academy is a great school because of the facilities that we have on offer. I really enjoy football and using the 3G pitches for PE and after school clubs are good fun. I play on the year 9 boys team so having good facilities to practice on makes us a better team. We have won two games so far this year and are hoping to win lots more. We have a football club each Thursday after school and then we do fitness work in PE lessons both of which I really enjoy. I play football with a local team as well and we train in Blackbird Leys twice a week.
Things that I enjoy the most at TOA are the mix of lessons that I get to do in year 9. My favourites are Geography and PE. I want to choose them for my GCSE options later in the year. I am not sure what I want to do when I leave school so I am enjoying having a go at lots of different subjects this year. We are learning about different careers at the minute in PSHCE which is making me think about what subjects I would like to do next year.
Hi I am Imogen. I am a year 9 student at TOA. I think that the best thing about being a student at the Oxford Academy is the opportunities that people get. Some examples of these opportunities are the trips on offer. There is a skiing trip next Easter that students can get involved with. There is a trip to France to help students that are studying French. There is a whole range of activities that happen every day after school. Our tutors show us the timetable each week so that we can plan what we would like to go to. I hope to go on the trip to France as I am really enjoying my French lessons
I enjoy my lessons because they are interactive and the teachers are really helpful. The subjects that I enjoy the most are Geography and French. I get to choose my GCSE options this year but I am unsure what I would like to choose yet. Year 9s will get the chance to speak to our teachers about this before we make any choices. There is a parents options evening so that I can speak to my parents about what is on offer. I also like that we have awards assemblies, last year I won a certificate for being one of the students with the most credits in the year group.
