PSHCE

Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) is a school subject through which pupils develop knowledge, skills and attributes they need to manage their lives, now and in the future. It helps young adults to stay healthy and safe, whilst preparing them to make the most of life and work.

PSHCE is a vital stepping stone, helping to prepare young people to begin their independent life as adults. The focus of the topics covered seeks to balance preparation for the future and supporting their current life experiences and we carefully plan the course to ensure it is as relevant to their needs as possible.

As well as regular sessions, as part of the tutorial system and assemblies, all students will have a timetabled lesson for PSHCE where they will take part in a range of discussions and thought-provoking questions which will explore the key themes of:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Relationships
  • Living in the wider world
