Poppy Clarke recently received an award from the Governing Board for writing the poem below which was subsequently published, along with other poems, in a book entitled “A World of Difference, Poems from Southern England”, produced by The Big Green Poetry Machine.
Rubbish…..
Rubbish, rubbish everywhere
Pick it up, to give us clean air.
Rubbish, rubbish please don’t drop
Place it in your pocket or an appropriate stop.
Look for a bin, there are lots around,
If not place the rubbish back in your hand.
Wait until you find the correct stop,
Then you may, of course, drop
