About our Vice Principals

Vice Principal Chris Thomas is responsible for the day-to-day running of the Academy and, in the absence of the Principal, assumes the Principal’s responsibilities.  Additionally, Chris oversees timetabling, facilities and resources and is responsible for the Sixth Form.  He also heads the Lead Practitioners team and coordinates community learning. Chris was previously an Assistant Headteacher in Southampton and has broad experience of teaching across a variety of schools. Chris, whose specialist area is Humanities, has developed new courses and vocational pathways for students.

Vice Principal Chris Davies is responsible for learning at The Oxford Academy.  As Such, Chris oversees the Heads of School, behaviour, learning support and assessment and reporting to parents. Chris was Head of Year and Learning Manager at Chipping Norton School and is an English specialist. He is an Oxford resident with a strong passion for working with local communities. Chris is also a keen sportsman and has been involved in voluntary work in Peckham.

Vice Principal, Sarah Norcliffe is responsible for the teaching staff and the quality of teaching at the Academy.  Sarah oversees teacher recruitment and professional development and is also developing the Leadership Centre for teachers and students. She leads the Heads of Curriculum teams and the specialisms at the Academy. Sarah’s previous roles have included Head of Specialism at the Youth Sport Trust, contract management for the DCSF and supporting schools in Ofsted categories. Sarah was also previously an advisory teacher for PE in Lincolnshire and a primary PE advisor in Devon.
