All staff members are encouraged to participate in training and are given access to learning resources to aid professional development, enhancing their own skills and experience and therefore passing this on to our students and colleagues, click here for more information. Professional development at The Oxford Academy is at the heart of our staff training
Focus on our Vice Principals:
Chris Thomas is responsible for the Sixth Form and oversees timetabling, facilities and resources. Chris, whose specialist area is Humanities, has developed new courses and vocational pathways for students.
Chris Davies is responsible for learning at the Academy and oversees the Heads of School, behaviour, learning support and assessment and reporting to parents. Chris is an Oxford resident with a strong passion for working with local communities.
Sarah Norcliffe is responsible for the teaching staff and the quality of teaching at the Academy. Sarah oversees teacher recruitment, leads the Heads of Curriculum teams and the Leadership Centre.
Focus on key members of staff:
Louise O'Hara is our Head of School with responsibility for Year 7. Louise's role involves primary liaison and transition; encouraging Year 5 students to join us and making sure that Year 6 students are excited about joining the Academy. In September, it is Louise's job to make sure everyone is making good progress; preparing them to be successful young adults in every way.
