Lead Practitioner in Mathematics

Lead Practitioner in Mathematics

We are delighted to be seeking to appoint a dynamic and ambitious candidate to our wider leadership team as a Lead Practitioner in Mathematics. The successful candidate must possess a passion for the subject and be an outstanding classroom practitioner with strong subject expertise and a commitment to raising expectations and attainment.

 

You will have experience of leading CPD as the post requires that you work closely with the Head of Mathematics to develop the pedagogy of the team as well as the Headteacher with responsibility for teaching and learning to improve numeracy across the curriculum.

 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate unwavering commitment to raising progress and standards and like all of us at The Oxford Academy, you will believe that there is no barrier to achievement we cannot surmount and that every student can share in the joy of education and attainment.

Contract Type: Full time and Permanent – NQTs welcome

The successful candidate will be an innovative, inspiring Mathematics Teacher who will work within an energetic and friendly department and will enjoy working with highly motivated and intellectually curious students at all levels.

The maths department are a friendly, enthusiastic and collaborative team of 11 teachers, one dedicated intervention maths specialist and one Maths Mastery lead. We pride ourselves on promoting a love of mathematics and a can-do approach to a well-rounded math education. The Oxford Academy maths curriculum follows Maths Mastery at KS3 and KS4 with students sitting AQA GCSE Maths in year 11 and either Edexcel AS/A Level Maths, AQA Functional Skills or GCSE Maths resit in the 6th Form.

 

As a department we have high expectations of ourselves and our students. This is supported through a supportive behaviour strategy, a time effective and successful marking policy, timetabled subject specific CPD and career development opportunities.
