Your development is important to us

We offer exciting development opportunities in a fast-paced, challenging work environment. You will be mentored; learning from the best, both within the Academy and through our partnerships with other professional organisations.  We have a strong, focused leadership team which will support you not only day-to-day but also with your professional and personal growth.

We are a team

Teamwork is at the heart of what we do. You will be a valued member of more than one team: within your curriculum area; within tutor groups; as a member of a working party and from time to time also working on special projects.

We value every individual's contributions and we work together to explore new avenues and find innovative solutions. We channel individuals' expertise to help us reach our goals and we will encourage you to 'think outside the box' and lead on projects that are of particular interest to you or are in areas in which you have particular skills.

Induction

When you join the Academy you will learn about our structure, ethos, goals, ambitions and performance measures.  You will understand your role, responsibilities and reporting lines and be introduced to our working practices, policies and expectations. Once you are settled in your role, we will work together on a personal development plan appropriate to your career stage and experience. We expect all new colleagues to share our passion and energy for education and our performance management review process will identify personal development opportunities tailored to your specific goals.  We will set these goals with you and regularly assess performance, allowing you to broaden your range of skills and experience.

Support and mentoring

You will receive regular mentoring, coaching and feedback from senior colleagues and we aim to provide you with a variety of experiences relevant to your role to ensure you are developing your skills and that your role remains varied and interesting.  Our supportive team environment ensures that colleagues encourage and support each other, helping to build self-confidence and the pursuit of professional advancement. Your mentor will be a senior manager or other partner within the Academy. They will support you through challenges that may arise and offer guidance on your career.
