Oxford Academy

Performing Arts

Oliver  24 & 25 January 2017

Well what a time to start at The Oxford Academy! One week in and a full school production, what a truly amazing experience! My name is Mr Herriman and I have just joined the Performing Arts department and I am thrilled to tell you all about the production of “Oliver” directed by Ms Powell and supported by Mr Jones on props and     Ms Cockburn on costume and not forgetting a lovely backdrop supplied and painted by the Art Department.

From the outset as the students walked and sang with great purpose you just knew that this was going to be a great evening. The passion and commitment that the young people showed was exemplary. It truly was a celebration of the talent and enthusiasm that is here at The Oxford Academy.  You will see from the quotes below that Parents and Carers, Staff, Students and Guests agree with me totally.

“Well done to you, your team and the students. It was a wonderful show!”  Mrs  Greenslade

“This was the best experience I have ever had”  Jamie Just (Oliver)

“This evening was a triumph! We enjoyed every minute and just want to thank you for all your hard work. Luke was the scariest Bill Sykes I have ever seen and the singing was wonderful. Please pass on  my congratulations to the actors, the stage hands, the amazing musicians.”  Ellie Payne, Parent Governor

“Amazing on all fronts! Thoroughly enjoyed my evening’s entertainment.”    Mrs Thompson

“I just wanted to say congratulations to you, your staff and all the cast! Once again a wonderful evening that was enjoyed by all.”  Mrs Pollard

It truly was a privilege and I am sure you will join me in congratulating each and every person involved in the show.
