Littlemore Health Partnership

The Littlemore Health Partnership was created in 2018 by The Oxford Academy, John Henry Newman Academy, St Mary and St Nicholas Church, Oxfordshire CCG and Oxford City council, represented by councillors John Tanner and Gill Sanders. The Group was set up after the local area was named Oxford's "obesity hotspot". The group is working together to find practical ways of helping families make healthy changes which last.

We are very aware we need to pull things together for the community and make sure we signpost people and give opportunities for them to improve their health, if possible. There are these pockets of Oxford where we need to tackle health issues in a supportive way.

Katie Screaton, chairman of the partnership and head of John Henry Newman Academy

The Littlemore Health Partnership launched the Littlemore Health Challenge on Monday 26th February until Sunday 4th March 2018. For one week, the group encouraged families and individuals to make small changes to their lives to help benefit their long term health.

Ideas such as walking to work, or getting off the bus a stop earlier, swapping a sugary drink for water, ditching chocolate for fruit, or encouraging families to take up a new activity and get more active. Whatever your budget, you can make a real difference to your families future with a few small changes.

If you would like to know more about the Littlemore Health Partnership and how you can get involved, then please email us.
