Q- Subjects studied and grades achieved?
A- Sociology – c, Psychology – c, Media studies - c
Q- What are your next steps following your A Level results?
A- I am pleased to say that I have just been accepted into Oxford Brookes! So I am going into higher education to further my interest in Psychology and Sociology by doing a ‘Sociology and Anthropology’ degree.
Q- Are you excited for university?
A- I am excited but at first I was nervous to even apply for university! However I felt reassured after attending the university workshops at Oxford Brookes. It’s really good that The Oxford Academy have a partnership with Oxford Brookes as it gave me a chance to see the university and ask professors questions before I applied. So yes, now that I have succeeded in getting in I am really looking forward to it.
Q- Is it true that you are also the first to go to university in your family history?
A- Yes that’s correct, no one has been to university in my family so it’s quite a revelation for us. Everyone’s so pleased for me and even the extended family have promised to visit!
Q- Were you pleased with your results?
A- Yes I am very pleased with my results, especially my psychology mark as I found the exam difficult and had to work especially hard for it.
Q- What are your long term goals and ambitions?
A- I like to help people and listen to their problems so I am considering being a social worker. However, I’m not completely sure so I am going to think about it more when I’m at university.
Q- How have The Oxford Academy supported you in achieving your goals and ambitions?
A- The Oxford Academy provides excellent facilities for all students; we really are lucky to have great Sporting and Science equipment.
